What is an “Enrolled Agent”?

An Enrolled Agent is a person that has passed a rigorous 16 hours exam given by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In passing this exam, such person has demonstrated his or her knowledge of tax law.
An Enrolled Agent is permitted to represent taxpayers in front of the IRS, the same as a Certified Public Accountant or an attorney.
But the Enrolled Agent is more than that. The Enrolled Agent is an expert in IRS procedure and is aware of the maze that is involved in the administration of Internal Revenue law.

Agi Szabo is an Enrolled Agent.

Agi is a native of Budapest, Hungary. She arrived to the United States at the age of 25. She saw the opportunities that exist in this country, and decided to stroll through the labyrinth of the tax laws and to know this country well. She could not believe in her first year that the government had taken all her savings in taxes (all $200), and decided to learn what this tax “stuff” was all about.

She studied accounting, business and of course, tax law.

She decided to learn Spanish, and she did.

Agi is fluent in English, Hungarian, and Spanish.

Agi provides services to businesses, real estate investors, and to fiduciaries.
Agi prepares complex income tax returns. As such, it provides services to taxpayers with various income sources and complex schedules. Agi’s function as a professional is to assist clients with their accounting and record keeping needs. She trains the client’s bookkeeper and, if the client utilizes QuickBooks®, she trains the bookkeeper on its appropriate use.

Real estate:

Taxation of real estate is a very complicated area. The professional that works in this area must be well versed in the laws and the intricacies involved. Agi specializes in that area and it is one of her favorite and strongest fields.

Fiduciary accounting:

This is a specialty in which not many accountants are versed. It requires particular knowledge and Agi has that knowledge.
