Felipe (Phil) Cervantes, Attorney
           (LLM Tax)

Felipe served two years in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps where he operated electronic communications equipment. (This was before computers took over communications).
After his service he attended college under the G. I. Bill.

He Graduated from California State College, Los Angeles, with a B.S. in business administration, especilizing in Accounting. After graduating from college he went to work for Exxon Oil Co. as an internal auditor. He was based in Dallas, Texas, as part of the marketing division of Exxon Oil Co. His auditing territory covered the Midwest from the Canadian to the Mexican border.

After two years of traveling with Exxon he decided that his place was in San Diego. In San Diego he worked for a large Accounting firm as a financial auditor. There he obtained his degree as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Subsequently, he attended the University of San Diego where he obtained a J.D. and a LLM degree in taxation.

Felipe lived his first sixteen years in Mexico and finished what is the equivalent of High School.
Felipe has satisfactorily completed the Interpreter Training Workshop Series with the Municipal Court in San Diego (English-Spanish).

Felipe's function is to advise small businesses in legal and tax matters. His background as internal and financial auditor and accountant is valuable in understanding the functions of a business and help them solve their legal and tax problems.
He understands that the biggest challenge that a small business faces is compliance. The tax and labor laws are so extensive and complicated that it is not possible for the average business person to understand what is expected of him or her.

He also provides estate planning. He understands the issues regarding testamentary dispositions, trusts, and estates, and its taxation. He is also familiar with the controversies that arise among families when proper estate planning is not implemented.

The combination of accounting, tax and legal knowledge that Felipe has acquired gives him a valuable insight into fiduciary responsibilities.

He provides legal and tax advice exclusively to TaxPlan Center, Inc. and TaxPlan Center, Inc.'s clients.
